What to Look For in a Professional Limo Service

When that special occasion arrives, whether it's a memorable wedding day or a corporate celebration, finding the best limousine service is important. Unfortunately, it can be somewhat tricky to discover a good limo service with the large number of companies available. With so many different limo services to choose from, how do you pick the right one? To help you find the best company for your needs, we've assembled the following list of questions to ask any service you're considering hiring.

What Do Previous Customers Have to Say About Your Services?

Any successful limousine company should have good customer reviews on its website. Make a shortlist of only limousine services with positive credentials and client reviews. It also helps to ask a company if they have any references you can call to inquire about their satisfaction.

How Many Years Have You Been in Business?

Experience is vital for any business, especially for limousine service companies. It's important to know how many years a company and each of its employees have been active in the limo industry. There's a huge difference between a startup and a company that's been in business for years.

What Is the Size of Your Limousine Fleet?

It's beneficial to know the size of a company's limousine fleet. Is it a small fleet? Do they have several vehicles in various sizes and models? Although a large fleet isn't the sole indicator of a company's quality of service, it's an important matter to ask about if you're looking for a special type of limo for your occasion. For example, if you want a super stretch limo or an SUV limo, the service you hire should be able to provide a vehicle that will meet your needs.

Are You Properly Licensed?

Licensing is crucial, as the DMV requires all limo services to have liability insurance covering passengers. Be sure to check that a limo service has a state-issued license number for its legal operation. It's also important to check that a company is accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB), as this will let you know that the business is legitimate. It can additionally be good to ask whether the limo service belongs to a group like the National Limousine Association (NLA).

May I Meet the Chauffeur?

It can be helpful to meet your chauffeur ahead of time to get a feel for them. Look at their manner of dress and their overall disposition. An unprofessional or dour chauffeur can ruin that special ride when everything else is perfect. Since your safety depends on your driver, it's also crucial to inquire about how the limousine service's policies relate to their employees' driving records. Ideally, your chauffeur will be familiar with the geographical area you will be traveling in and has taken some chauffeur driving courses.

What Are Your Hours of Operation?

An established, reputable limousine service company will be available whenever you need them, day or night. When researching a company to hire, check to see that they offer 24/7 customer support service. You don't want to have to leave unexpectedly from that late-night party or have to catch an emergency ride to the airport and not be able to contact your limo service.

What Are Your Busiest Times?

Weekends are usually busy for limousine companies since many weddings, parties, and proms are held on Saturdays, and these occasions account for 40% of total limo service, according to the Herald Tribune. As a result, you may need to pay higher rates to book a limo on certain days of the week. However, pricing will be long forgotten when the shiny limo pulls up, the chauffeur elegantly opens the door, and waiting inside is a bottle of champagne that's already been iced down.

Whether you're planning a wedding, a prom, or any other special occasion, the limo company you hire can make or break your whole experience. It's important to choose wisely to ensure that everything goes according to plan and you enjoy the amazing day you deserve.
